<p>The Miami Dolphins are bringing on Hall of Fame quarterback and ESPN broadcaster Troy Aikman to serve as a consultant in the team's search for a new general manager, sources told <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47475598/sources-troy-aikman-advise-dolphins-gm-search-process">ESPN's Adam Schefter</a>.</p><p>It's not a permanent role for Aikman, who will reportedly be an adviser as Miami looks for a new GM to replace Chris Grier. The Dolphins and Grier agreed to part ways Oct. 31.</p><p>Aikman is not considered a candidate for Miami's GM vacancy, reports <a href="https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/2006866846381756717?s=20">NFL Network's Tom Pelissero</a>, who adds that the 59-year-old will do background work before the franchise kicks off interviews next week.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The advisory role won't interfere with Aikman's work as a Monday Night Football analyst, Schefter notes. He's expected to be in the booth for Saturday's clash between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.</p><p>Aikman is a three-time Super Bowl champion who played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1989-2000. He made 165 starts in his NFL career, earning six Pro Bowl berths.</p>

<p>The NFL suspended Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/111570" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/111570">DK Metcalf</a> two games for his altercation with a spectator during Sunday's win over the Detroit Lions, the league announced Monday.</p><p>Metcalf <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3434153" href="https://thescore.com/news/3434153">took a swing</a> at a fan wearing a Lions T-shirt in the stands. He plans to appeal the suspension, a source told <a href="https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/2003231161917821333?s=20">ESPN's Adam Schefter</a>.</p><p>"Metcalf's actions violate league policy, which specifies that 'players may not enter the stands or otherwise confront fans at any time on game day, and ... if a player makes unnecessary physical contact with a fan in any way that constitutes unsportsmanlike conduct or presents crowd-control issues and/or risk of injury, he will be held accountable,'" the NFL said in a statement.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The spectator has <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3435063" href="https://thescore.com/news/3435063">denied</a> allegations that he used a racial slur before Metcalf approached him. Metcalf has yet to publicly address the incident after not speaking to media postgame.</p><p>Metcalf's suspension would cost him $277,778 in salary per game. The 28-year-old's contract with Pittsburgh also states that his guarantees "will be null and void" if he "fails ... to practice or play with the club for any reason," according to <a href="https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/dk-metcalf-suspension-voids-40m-in-guarantees-gives-steelers-future-financial-out/">CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones</a>.</p><p>If Metcalf's suspension is upheld, the Steelers could choose to <a href="https://x.com/ProFootballTalk/status/2003325944979947894">void</a> his remaining guarantees worth $45 million in 2026 and 2027 combined. Metcalf would still be able to earn that money over the next two seasons.</p><p>Metcalf signed a four-year, $132-million extension with the Steelers in March after joining the team as part of a trade from the Seattle Seahawks.</p><p>The Steelers wide receiver finished the matchup against the Lions with four catches for 42 yards, helping his team claim a 29-24 triumph that moved Pittsburgh closer to the AFC North title. The team is one win away from clinching the division crown. </p><p>The Steelers face the Cleveland Browns on Sunday before ending their regular season against the Baltimore Ravens.</p>

<p>The Seattle Kraken are trading forward <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nhl/players/9435" href="https://thescore.com/nhl/players/9435">Mason Marchment</a> to the Columbus Blue Jackets, the team announced Friday.</p><p>Seattle will reportedly receive a 2027 second-round pick and a 2026 fourth-round selection as part of the deal.</p><p>"Mason is a player I know very well, and I think he will add a great deal to our team," Blue Jackets general manager Don Waddell <a href="https://www.nhl.com/bluejackets/news/blue-jackets-acquire-mason-marchment-draft-picks">said</a>. "He is a physical, hard-nosed competitor with proven offensive ability, and we are very excited to have him join the Blue Jackets."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The move takes place roughly six months after the Kraken acquired Marchment from the Dallas Stars for a fourth- and third-round pick. He originally signed a four-year, $18-million contract with the Stars in 2022.</p><p>Marchment's contract is worth $4.5 million for 2025-26. None of it will be retained in the deal sending him from Seattle to Columbus, according to <a href="https://x.com/reporterchris/status/2002245406063726784?s=20">The Athletic's Chris Johnston</a>. The Winnipeg Jets were also linked to the 30-year-old earlier this week.</p><p>Marchment recorded two 20-goal seasons with Dallas, but he scored four goals across 29 appearances this season with the Kraken. He's also posted nine assists in 2025-26.</p><p>The Blue Jackets will face the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday, but it's unclear if the newly acquired Marchment will be in the lineup.</p>

He helped the Canadiens make a run to the Stanley Cup Final in '21 and established himself as one of the league's best defensive forwards, finishing in the top 10 in Selke Trophy voting three times before signing a six-year contract with the Kings.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>In Los Angeles, Danault set a career high in goals (27) in 2021-22 and points (54) in 2022-23. The 32-year-old has posted only five assists through 30 appearances this season.</p><p>Danault, who's signed through 2026-27 with a $5.5-million cap hit, had a 10-team no-trade list prior to his move to Montreal.</p>

<p>The Sacramento Kings announced Friday that center <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/38429" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/38429">Domantas Sabonis</a> will miss at least another four-to-five weeks as he continues to rehab a partial meniscus tear in his left knee, according to <a href="https://x.com/James_HamNBA/status/2002176861988704531?s=20">James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento</a>.</p><p>The Kings previously announced Nov. 20 that Sabonis would miss at least three weeks because of the injury. He's appeared in only 11 games this season, averaging 17.2 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.</p><p>The three-time All-Star also dealt with a hamstring issue in the preseason and missed a couple of regular-season contests with a rib cage contusion.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>With the Kings off to a 6-21 start to the 2025 campaign, a healthy Sabonis would presumably be a top trade candidate for the team prior to the Feb. 5 deadline.</p>

Brady also sustained a torn ACL in Year 9 during the 2008 season, although the then-New England Patriots passer went down in the first game of that campaign.</p><p>"It's a tough rehab. It's one of the toughest rehabs," Brady said on an episode of the "Let's Go!" podcast published Tuesday, according to <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/tom-brady-offers-advice-to-patrick-mahomes-ahead-of-tough-rehab">NFL.com's Kevin Patra</a>. "I just remember every day pushing myself. And it's always the same amount of pain and discomfort, except you're making progress through that pain and discomfort, which is a hard psychological thing to battle. So, I wish him the very best."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The Chiefs announced Monday that Mahomes underwent surgery on his left knee. Head coach Andy Reid had said that the superstar QB avoided major damage to his other ligaments, but Mahomes <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3428864" href="https://thescore.com/news/3428864">reportedly</a> also had a torn LCL repaired.</p><p>"The only thing you can do is focus on what's ahead of you and not look back," Brady added. "And just say, 'OK, this is part of what my career is going to be.' And a lot of people have gone through it, and a lot of people have overcome it.</p><p>"You've just got to put as much diligence into the rehab process. I always feel like the faster you rehab, the faster you can get back to practicing the sport that you know you love. I think sometimes people will pace themselves. Instead of training mode, they're in rehab mode. I think you gotta get through rehab mode as fast as possible and then you get back to training mode. But that requires an all-out commitment, and it's the same commitment that the great professional athletes make to be great at their profession."</p><p>Brady and Mahomes each won three Super Bowls before suffering a torn ACL.</p><p>Brady returned from his injury in 2009 with 4,398 passing yards and 28 touchdowns against 13 interceptions, claiming the Comeback Player of the Year award that season. The Patriots made the playoffs with a 10-6 record but lost in the wild-card round. Brady finished his career with seven Vince Lombardi Trophies.</p>
