<p>Former Tennessee Titans general manager Jon Robinson says he'd take a do-over on the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/111194" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/111194">A.J. Brown</a> trade.</p><p>The Titans dealt Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2022 NFL Draft for a package that included a first-round pick, which they used to select wide receiver <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/173990" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/173990">Treylon Burks</a>.</p><p>"There was just a lot of discussion that went into that decision," Robinson said Wednesday during an appearance on 102.5-FM, according to <a href="https://www.nashvillepost.com/sports/football/former-titans-general-manager-jon-robinson-regrets-critical-decisions-during-tenure/article_31c41eba-cdb4-4cfd-8f89-55906595d674.html">John Glennon of The Nashville Post</a>. "Ultimately, it was my responsibility to make the decision."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Robinson added: "Again, if I had one of those mulligans, I would probably do that one. ... In hindsight, if you had a do-over, I'd be an idiot to sit here and say, 'No, I'd do it again.' No, you'd do it different. But we made the decision that we made, and then the rest is what it is."</p><p>Tennessee waived Burks earlier this week following a disappointing three-year run in which he totalled 699 receiving yards. Brown, who was seeking a new contract from Tennessee at the time of the trade, went on to ink a $100-million extension with the Eagles shortly after the deal. He's since gone on to record 4,031 receiving yards in three years in Philadelphia while signing another extension worth $96 million over three years in 2024.</p><p>Robinson also criticized some of his other draft misses, such as selecting offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson in the first round in 2020. Wilson played one game with the Titans before being traded.</p><p>"I liken (selecting Wilson) to a tee-ball game, and I don't know if I even hit the tee," Robinson said.</p><p>Tennessee went 66-43 in the regular season and 3-4 in the playoffs during Robinson's tenure.</p>

If I mess up, I look to Zach (Ertz) and guys like that to hold me accountable."</p><p>Running back <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/81875" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/81875">Austin Ekeler</a> said he's noticed Daniels' growth, recalling how the signal-caller kicked a player out of the huddle for a false start in Thursday's practice.</p><p>"That's awesome to see in a quarterback," Ekeler added.</p><p>Daniels also emphasized the importance of communication off the field to establish rapport when the pads go on.</p><p>"I try to connect with each and every guy in the locker room," Daniels said, according to <a href="https://apnews.com/article/commanders-jayden-daniels-receivers-4d33901dbee158cdfd0ae41d49431df0">The Associated Press' Ben Standig</a>. "That's where it all starts. Once you start with that, then you're able to move on to the field - get to know how the guy works, what type of person he is."</p><p>Daniels led the Commanders to an NFC title game appearance in his rookie season. The team's car struggled for much of the second half of 2024 and has been significantly outmatched in 2025 compared to McLaren, which leads the constructors' standings.</p><p>Red Bull also dismissed team principal Christian Horner after the British Grand Prix earlier in July. Though the team didn't give a specific reason for his dismissal, Verstappen said he doubted the decision would impact his future.</p><p>Verstappen has spent his entire Formula 1 career in Red Bull's system, debuting with junior team Toro Rosso in 2015 before moving to the main team in 2016. Those assessments of the McLaren duo are tough to argue after Spa.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Piastri snatched the lead from Norris on a damp track almost immediately on Lap 1. Coupled with a battery issue, Norris had a few snaps coming out of the first corner. That left him a sitting duck for Piastri, who easily blew past him.</p><p>Norris and his engineers opted for the tire compound opposite to Piastri's when it was time to switch from intermediate to slick tires. Norris went for the hard compounds after Piastri dove in for the mediums, which should have given the former a big advantage near the closing stages.</p><p>Still, like many times before, Norris was unable to capitalize.</p><p>Three noticeable mistakes cost the British driver at least a second during his chase. Unlike 2021, the drivers did eventually go racing, but the timing may have influenced the results.</p><p>At the time of the restart, the FIA opted for four laps behind safety car conditions. With a dry line quickly forming, the next decision for a rolling start was even more confusing. What was shaping up to be a wet race full of unpredictability - some drivers had opted for full wet-weather setups - fizzled out into a standard wet-dry race that caught out a lot of drivers.</p><p>Two of those drivers were world champions Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen, who ran a skinny rear wing to win the sprint race, opted to change to a larger wing in anticipation of Sunday's rain. While there was rain, there wasn't enough left on the racing line to make the wing choice useful. He called it a shame after the race, saying the decision to delay the start was too cautious. With a larger wing, Verstappen lost his straight-line speed advantage and finished just over a second behind Charles Leclerc, who wasn't carrying as much rear-wing downforce, for the final podium spot.</p><p>Ferrari, meanwhile, started Hamilton from the pit lane after changing his car's profile for wet weather. That helped him at the start of the race, but he eventually plateaued once the track moved to slick tires. "It isn't racing, it's just stupidity."</p><p>It's tough to decide when it's safe enough to go racing around Spa, especially considering the lives lost at the track. Some feel the FIA leaned too far on the side of caution Sunday, while others think better safe than sorry. Perhaps the gamble for wet setups, knowing race control's tendency, should be considered a bad strategy call. Either way, F1's attitude toward heavy wet-weather racing is, clearly, to avoid it if possible.</p><h3>Driver of the Day 🙌</h3><p><strong>Charles Leclerc</strong>: Piastri and Hamilton are also acceptable shouts here, but Leclerc quietly put together another terrific weekend. Equipped with Ferrari's new upgrade package, he qualified best of all non-McLaren drivers, defended brilliantly against Verstappen in the wet, and then had an answer for the reigning champion's pace in the end stages. A podium well deserved.</p><h3>They said what? 🗣️</h3><p><strong>McLaren CEO Zak Brown on Norris' mistakes:</strong> "There was a couple untidy errors there." </p><p><strong>Norris on mistakes costing him the win: </strong>"The conditions were tricky. When you're playing on the edge like that, you're going to make some mistakes, but that's racing and life. In a way, I'm not unhappy. There isn't much more I could have done today. I thought I was quick ... just Lap 1 let me down."</p><p><strong>Verstappen on delaying the race 80 minutes because of rain: </strong>"It was a bit of a shame. Of course, they took a very cautious approach. We spoke after Silverstone to be a little bit more cautious because of all the water there, but this, for me, was on the other extreme of waiting. It just ruins a nice classic wet race."</p><p><strong>Lewis Hamilton on his conversation with Kimi Antonelli:</strong> "I can't imagine what it's like at 18. I think he's been doing fantastic. To be thrown in the deep end at 18 - he hadn't even had his driver's license when he started. It's been a messy start to training camp, as team owner Jerry Jones took a <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3313910" href="https://thescore.com/news/3313910">swipe</a> at Parsons' injury history when asked about negotiations. Parsons responded by saying he felt discouraged by the state of talks, pointing to Watt and Garrett's news deals. The star edge rusher is - deservedly - going to get market-resetting money. The faster Dallas can make that happen, the faster this Cowboys team can start building momentum for an important 2025 season.</p><p><strong>Terry McLaurin</strong>: The expectations for the Commanders are higher than they've been in quite some time. The only problem is that Washington forgot to bring its biggest homegrown veteran along for the ride. McLaurin, who has racked up over 1,000 yards in five straight seasons, is eyeing a new deal, and Washington is playing hardball. It's an odd battle for a front office that's had no problem bringing in Laremy Tunsil, Javon Kinlaw, and Deebo Samuel, especially since McLaurin can be considered underpaid - his average value on his current deal ranks 17th among NFL receivers. What message does it send that the Commanders have no issue absorbing veteran contracts but can't take care of their own?</p><p><strong>Jauan Jennings</strong>: With no <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3314332" href="https://thescore.com/news/3314332">clarity</a> on when Brandon Aiyuk will be able to return from a torn ACL suffered last year, Jennings has all the leverage in his contract negotiations. Still, that hasn't stopped him from participating in drills. The 28-year-old is coming off a breakout 975-yard campaign, though it's the only season in which he's registered over 416 yards. Rumors swirled that he requested a trade, but head coach Kyle Shanahan shut those down.</p><p><strong>Kyren Williams</strong>: Williams, who is eyeing an extension, is not only not holding out, he's even on the field practicing. Both sides sound eager to make this work, so it seems like a matter of time before common ground is found. Williams has been an important piece for the Rams, rushing for 2,443 yards over the last two seasons.</p><p><strong>James Cook</strong>: Cook is also at camp, but he's been more direct than his comrades, saying Thursday, "I deserve what I want." General manager Brandon Beane said this week that he hopes Cook is here next year, but there's uncertainty about whether a deal will be brokered. Cook, who's entering the last year of his rookie contract, tied for the league lead in rushing touchdowns last season with 16 and has been a key part of the Bills' offense. But the team does have second-year pro Ray Davis waiting in the wings. We'll see how this situation plays out.</p><h3>Notable camp standouts 🔥</h3><p><strong>Chiefs WRs</strong></p><p>Patrick Mahomes was being forced to put on a one-man show in 2024 without any elite wide receivers around him. That may change in 2025. <p>The Cincinnati Bengals and first-round draft pick <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/209924" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/209924">Shemar Stewart</a> have agreed to terms on a guaranteed four-year rookie contract, his agency told <a href="https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/1948871516721963397">NFL Network's Tom Pelissero</a>.</p><p>Stewart, who was the final unsigned 2025 first-round pick, was involved in a public dispute with the Bengals over reported language in his contract relating to voiding guaranteed money due to potential conduct detrimental to the team, according to <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45788560/bengals-prez-brown-foolishness-shemar-stewart-unsigned">ESPN's Ben Baby</a>. That language is apparently not featured in the contracts of Cincinnati's previous first-round picks.</p><p>The Bengals kept that language in Stewart's deal, though the pass-rusher will receive more money from his signing bonus earlier, sources told <a href="https://x.com/Schultz_Report/status/1948874263026344335">NFL insider Jordan Schultz</a>.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Stewart's fully guaranteed first-round deal is worth $18.97 million and has a $10.4 million signing bonus, his agent told <a href="https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1948871164924674185">ESPN's Adam Schefter</a>.</p><p>The feud between the two sides played out in the public sphere: Stewart left minicamp in June and did not report to training camp, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3298613" href="https://thescore.com/news/3298613">saying</a> that the team wanted to win arguments more than games. Meanwhile, Bengals owner Mike Brown said Monday that it was "a form of foolishness" that Stewart was still unsigned and not at camp, per Baby.</p><p>Reaching an agreement with the 17th overall pick means the Bengals have taken care of half of their contract disputes. The 2024 NFL sack leader, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/72083" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/72083">Trey Hendrickson</a>, is also absent from camp as he seeks a new contract.</p>

"I see no concerns in regards to (Week 1) and have no worry at all that we'll be able to get Justin ready to go for the regular season."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>He suffered the injury in the opposite leg from the hamstring issue that cost him a portion of the 2023 season, <a href="https://x.com/SeifertESPN/status/1948824977962324084">Seifert</a> adds.</p><p>Jefferson told the media that he was experiencing tightness Thursday and underwent an MRI, per Seifert.</p><p>The 26-year-old has recorded over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his five NFL seasons. He caught 103 passes for 1,533 yards and 10 touchdowns last year to earn his fourth Pro Bowl nod.</p>
