Like when Christian Bale puts a movie on his back and uplifts his supporting cast's showing, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/37604" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/37604">Nikola Jokic</a> is one of the few NBA players with a similar command on the basketball court. <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/347" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/347">Russell Westbrook</a> is the latest beneficiary.</p><p>The Nuggets are 14-5 with Westbrook as a starter and 13-3 when Jokic and Westbrook start. Denver has outscored opponents by 12 points per 100 possessions when Jokic and Westbrook share the floor.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Westbrook was inserted into the starting lineup after <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/30810" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/30810">Aaron Gordon</a>'s Christmas Day injury. That decision was easy as Gordon missed the next nine games. However, Gordon has since returned, complicating coach Michael Malone's lineups.</p><p>Malone relegated Gordon to a reserve role in the two games since his return, opting to keep Westbrook in the starting lineup because of how well he's played alongside Jokic.</p><p>In the past 11 games - where Denver is 8-3 - Jokic and Westbrook have a 26.5 net rating together, the highest among any two-man combo on the Nuggets who have played at least 150 minutes together during that stretch.</p><p>The Nuggets are 24-16 and the 4-seed in the West after starting the season 11-10. Denver leaped to +900 to win the West during a rough stretch in the first month, trailing the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/28" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/28">Thunder</a>, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/21" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/21">Mavericks</a>, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/27" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/27">Timberwolves</a>, and <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/19" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/19">Suns</a>. The Nuggets now have the second-best odds to win the West (+650) behind the Thunder (+110).</p><p>Westbrook is well past his prime and has struggled to transition from high-usage former MVP to role player. The 18-year veteran relied on uncanny explosiveness throughout his best years. When that diminished, so did his star status. He was often unwilling to adapt in his previous two stops with the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/18" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/18">Lakers</a> and <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/17" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/17">Clippers</a>.</p><p>But the Mile High City doubles as a revitalization camp where dying careers are revived. Jokic is the surgeon. Gordon was the first patient, and Westbrook followed suit. Jokic's ability to create for everyone around him through his incredible vision and passing makes it easy to play with him, especially when he commands extra defensive attention.</p><p>Westbrook seemed like a bizarre offseason addition as a career 30% 3-point shooter joining a team that finished last in 3-point attempts and sixth-to-last in 3-point makes.</p><p>He averaged fewer than 13 points on 42% shooting from the field while playing 26 minutes per game off the bench in November. He's averaging 16.8 points, 6.8 assists, and 7.1 boards on 49% shooting from the field through nine games in January, all of which he's started.</p><p>In the 15 games before Wednesday night's Jokic-less blowout loss to the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/22" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/22">Rockets</a>, Denver was 16 points per 100 possessions better with Westbrook on the floor than off. Westbrook started 12 of those games. </p><p>That was the opposite in November: The Nuggets were 19 points per 100 possessions better with him on the bench.</p><p>It's no secret that playing alongside Jokic makes it easier for cutting teammates to get clean looks. Westbrook was a reluctant off-ball cutter for much of his career but has become a willing cutter in Denver.</p><p>He has 71 points off cuts in 2024-25. The most he's scored in a campaign in the past decade is 96 with the Lakers in 2021-22. The Nuggets aren't even halfway through their season. That's the Jokic effect.</p><p>In the clips below, the Nuggets repeat the same action in the closing minutes of their win over the Mavs. Denver forces a switch to put a smaller defender (<a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/60416" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/60416">P.J. His inconsistency as the lead guard haunted the Nuggets during last year's second-round exit and early this season.</p><p>Westbrook's insertion as a starter has allowed Murray to play - and thrive - off the ball more. Murray averages 22 points per game when Westbrook starts alongside him, up from his season average of 19.</p><p>Malone must decipher Denver's lineup configurations, but Westbrook's new role is a reason to bet on the Nuggets.</p><h3>Time is ticking on the Sixers</h3><p>There's a fine line between hope and despair, and no franchise has teetered on it more than the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/4" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/4">Sixers</a>. Philadelphia's 2024-25 group is officially in the despair phase.</p><p>The 76ers' starting lineup Tuesday night against the Thunder featured <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/37666" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/37666">Kelly Oubre Jr.</a>, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/199" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/199">Eric Gordon</a>, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/110227" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/110227">Ricky Council</a>, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/874" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/874">Reggie Jackson</a>, and <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///olybbm/players/52283" href="https://thescore.com/olybbm/players/52283">Guerschon Yabusele</a>. I don't blame you if you haven't heard of some of those names.</p><p>Many believed the Sixers won the offseason after signing <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/1889" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/1889">Paul George</a>, but winning the offseason doesn't equate to winning games. Before this campaign, Philadelphia had the third-best odds of winning the East at +500. The 76ers are 15-24, the 11th seed in the East, and have the sixth-best odds of winning the East at +2000.</p><p>No grand basketball analysis can explain why this year has been the most disappointing in recent Sixers history (among many strong candidates). This is simply about injuries.</p><p>Former MVP <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/31932" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/31932">Joel Embiid</a> has played in 13 of the Sixers' 39 games. He began the season with a knee injury and has missed the past six games with a mysterious foot sprain.</p><p>George has missed 12 games and <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/93855" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/93855">Tyrese Maxey</a> has been in and out of the lineup at various points. The Big Three have started 10 games together and are 7-3 in those contests. </p><p>Philadelphia earned an impressive win over the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/1" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/1">Celtics</a> on Christmas Day, signaling it was turning a corner with its health and chemistry. Since then, the Sixers are 4-7 and Embiid has played just four games. Philly has the NBA's second-worst against-the-spread record. It hasn't covered its past six games and nine of its past 11.</p><p>When the Sixers started slowly without Embiid, they could tell themselves they had plenty of time to climb into the Eastern Conference playoff picture once he returned. Now, with the season almost halfway complete, the Sixers are two games out of a play-in spot and six out of avoiding the play-in as the 6-seed. The Sixers' margin for error is as thin as their home crowds.</p><p>For the first time, the Sixers are favored to miss the playoffs rather than make them. They're -160 to miss the postseason and +125 to make it. They were -3000 (97% implied probability) to make the playoffs when the season began.</p><p>The Sixers' second-half outlook hinges on Embiid's health. Although he's been inconsistent in his minimal time on the court, he's undoubtedly one of the league's best and most valuable players. He'll eventually return, but there's no reason to believe he'll stay healthy. The Cowboys blocked McCarthy from interviewing with other organizations while teams conducted countless interviews over the past week. McCarthy and the Cowboys are late to the coaching carousel, and Dallas might have missed out on certain candidates by waiting - the <a target="_blank" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/teams/3">Patriots</a> already hired Mike Vrabel. Jones' circus-like operation never operates ordinarily.</span></p><p>Jones is now looking for his ninth coach since he bought the Cowboys in 1989. Time is running out for the 82-year-old to win his first Super Bowl in almost 30 years. Dallas has a talented and (mostly) reliable quarterback in <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/50470" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/50470">Dak Prescott</a>, a star wide receiver in <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/120335" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/120335">CeeDee Lamb</a>, and perhaps the best defensive player in the sport in <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/161667" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/161667">Micah Parsons</a>.</p><p>Jones is a questionable general manager and refuses to relinquish those responsibilities, but the roster is solid enough to contend immediately with marginal improvements through the draft and free agency.</p><p>Any prospective coach must deal with a meddling owner whose ego and constant attention-seeking often distract from the team. But that's why the favorite to become the next Cowboys coach could be perfect for the job. No one earns more attention than Deion Sanders. He has the moniker Prime Time for a reason. The sports world's infatuation with Sanders as an athlete and, more recently, a coach has made him an A-list celebrity.</p><p>This wouldn't be the Lakers hiring JJ Redick with zero coaching experience because he was successful on camera. Sanders is a proven coach at the collegiate level. He accepted a job at Colorado in 2023 after patrolling the sidelines at the FCS level. Sanders revived a dying program while increasing his players' draft value, including his son and star quarterback <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///ncaaf/players/160938" href="https://thescore.com/ncaaf/players/160938">Shedeur Sanders</a>.</p><p>Colorado won one game before Sanders moved to Boulder. He completely upended the roster and controversially forced kids to transfer. The Buffaloes won four contests in his first year, but a late-season collapse led to skeptics growing louder. However, Colorado claimed nine victories and was in the mix for the Big 12 title this past campaign.</p><p>Sanders proved he can build a winning culture. With the younger Sanders entering the NFL draft and projected to be a top pick, murmurs began that the elder Sanders could leap from college to the pros alongside his son.</p><p>The only team Sanders has been credibly linked to is the Cowboys. Jones and Sanders reportedly <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3189132" href="https://thescore.com/news/3189132">spoke</a> about the job Monday, and Sanders was intrigued by the call. There's apparently been no formal interview yet between the sides. Sanders and Jones have a long-standing relationship, with the Hall of Famer playing five of his 14 illustrious seasons in Dallas from 1995-99.</p><p>Jones has typically hired quieter personalities to ensure he remains the face of the team. Sanders is anything but a reserved personality. He might not help the Cowboys achieve more playoff success, but the Star and Prime Time are a match made in heaven for the cameras.</p><p>Kellen Moore was on Dallas' coaching staff for five years, including four as the offensive coordinator under Jason Garrett and McCarthy. He and the Cowboys parted ways after the 2022 season. Moore currently serves as the Eagles offensive coordinator and play-caller, leading one of the league's best offenses. He's familiar with Prescott and is an offensive-minded coach, which could entice Jones.</p><p>Kliff Kingsbury is another offensive coordinator Dallas might try to poach from a division rival. His first stint as a head coach didn't work out in Arizona, where he was fired after one winning campaign in four seasons. However, Kingsbury has revitalized his name in coaching searches as the Commanders' offensive coordinator and play-caller. <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/199756" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/199756">Jayden Daniels</a>' development and Washington's offensive prowess could earn Kingsbury a job in Dallas or elsewhere.</p><p>Joe Brady and Ben Johnson are hot coaching candidates as offensive coordinators for the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/teams/1" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/teams/1">Bills</a> and <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/teams/26" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/teams/26">Lions</a>, respectively. However, the Cowboys are behind, as each coach has already interviewed with other teams. Johnson is the most attractive name in this cycle. He had various coaching offers last season but elected to stay with the Lions. Bettors rushed to place their tickets once Flagg turned 18 on Dec. 21. Since he became a legal adult, 33% of Wooden Award bets and 50% of total money on the market has been on Flagg.</p><p>Since last Tuesday, he's garnered nearly 50% of all bets and 62% of the money wagered, as casual basketball fans were unable to avoid the hype machine after Flagg's monstrous, highlight-reel week.</p><p>Forgetting his place as the best freshman in the country, Flagg has emerged as the best player in the country. He's on his way to becoming the fourth freshman in NCAA history to win the award, joining the elite company of<a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/345" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/345"> Kevin Durant</a> (2007), <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/11373" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/11373">Anthony Davis</a> (2012), and <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/69536" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/69536">Zion Williamson</a> (2019).</p><p>KenPom ranks Flagg as the sport's best player this season, leading Duke to a 14-2 record. He's Duke's centerpiece and engine, but the Blue Devils have surrounded him with the perfect complementary pieces, including <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///ncaab/players/162168" href="https://thescore.com/ncaab/players/162168">Kon Knueppel</a> and <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///ncaab/players/103281" href="https://thescore.com/ncaab/players/103281">Tyrese Proctor</a>. Duke is the favorite to win the national title (+500). </p><p>Flagg is averaging 19.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.3 blocks. The Maine native's elite guard skills at 6-foot-9 make him a unique prospect. He can create for himself on the bounce, has extended shooting range, and can score at all three levels. Defensively, his versatility allows him to switch out on the perimeter, protect the rim effectively while deterring shots and potential drivers, and efficiently rotate over as a help defender. He possesses a rare combo of height, length, burst, and speed. Perhaps most impressively, Flagg's motor is exceptional, another rare occurrence for a player of his caliber.</p><p>He doesn't have <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/110276" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/110276">Victor Wembanyama</a>'s size or length, but he certainly has the talent and is the exact type of player NBA teams pray land in their lap. Flagg immediately changes the trajectory of a franchise. As the NBA season enters the latter half, more teams will forgo winning to position themselves for the best chance to win the draft lottery. A few teams already began that journey with Flagg in mind when the season tipped off in October.</p><p>For now, Flagg and Duke hope to accumulate hardware before he makes the NBA leap. They're in the bottom half of the league in pressure rate (21.4%), blitz rate (23.1%), and sacks (38). Despite being sacked three times in the Vikings' first meeting with the Rams, which L.A. won 30-20, Minnesota should be able to make the necessary adjustments to keep Darnold upright and allow him to distribute to his elite playmakers.</p><p>Although the Rams are one of two teams to beat the Vikings this season, Minnesota is still one of the best teams in the NFL. The Vikings have a top-10 offense and defense based on points scored and allowed per game, while both Rams units rank outside the top 15.</p><p>Minnesota ranks seventh in DVOA - ahead of the Chiefs - while the Rams are 17th. DVOA isn't an end-all, be-all statistic, but it does a quality job of ranking teams, and there's a substantial gap between these two.</p><p>Had Minnesota played marginally better last week, the Vikings would be favored by more than a field goal. Franklin is 1-14 against top-five opponents at Penn State, with his lone win coming in 2016. A win over Notre Dame would certainly quiet critics - many of whom are from Penn State's fan base - but a loss would amplify the disgust.</p><p>If possible, let's forget about Penn State constantly losing big games. Its offense is rolling. Both teams want to run the ball, but Allar has delivered explosive plays all season, completing 67% of his passes. The Thunder don't have weak defenders that the Celtics can exploit. Even Hartenstein and Holmgren (when healthy) can guard in space.</p><p>OKC has the NBA's best opponent turnover rate and leads the league in steals. The Thunder also lead the NBA in points off turnovers. On the other side, they turn the ball over less than any other team. It's hard to beat a team that values possession as much as the Thunder.</p><p>Boston led by 10 at halftime, but OKC's daunting defense unraveled the Celtics. Sure, Boston shot 12% from three in the second half, but the Thunder's defense deserves credit for forcing tough threes.</p><p>Oklahoma City did the same thing two nights prior. It wore down the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/3" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/3">Knicks</a> in the second half and stormed back from a double-digit deficit after holding New York to 19 fourth-quarter points.</p><p>The Thunder are 9-4 when trailing by double digits, according to NBA.com. The Suns would need to find a third team if they want to land Butler and get rid of Beal, and Beal would need to approve of the club to waive his no-trade clause. It's an uphill battle for Phoenix, but Butler would undoubtedly be an upgrade over Beal.</p><p>How much is Butler really worth? His scoring is down, but he's having one of the most efficient seasons of his career. He's only two years removed from carrying the Heat to the NBA Finals, but he's not getting any younger. Dealing with Butler's difficult persona was worth it when he was in his late 20s. Inevitably declining production, injury issues, and obvious attitude problems might make an organization hesitate before bringing him in. They are 22-7 and have the NBA's third-best net rating. Boston is undoubtedly better than Philly, especially as the Sixers have lacked opportunities to build chemistry. But are the Celtics 10.5 points better? That's a lot.</p><p>The Sixers need to show up on a big stage eventually. Embiid was ejected against the Spurs on Monday night, but his team won anyway. Embiid looks healthier and Philly's won three of its last four. But then New York saw an opportunity to upgrade its roster by trading Barrett for <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/46480" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/46480">OG Anunoby</a> last season, one of many moves that eventually landed New York one of the league's best starting units. But one organization's trash could be another's treasure.</p><p>Barrett had his moments in New York and helped facilitate a rebuild but never lived up to his potential as the No. 3 pick in 2019.</p><p>The sixth-year guard is breaking out through a quarter of his first full season with the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/5" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/5">Raptors</a>, averaging 23.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 6.1 assists, all career highs. He's the rebuilding Raptors' leading scorer as Toronto desperately awaits the returns of other young building blocks <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/96044" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/96044">Scottie Barnes</a> and<a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/93852" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/93852"> Immanuel Quickley</a>.</p><p>Barrett has the eighth-best odds at +2200 to win the Most Improved Player award, which seems high for an emerging star. </p><p>More opportunity typically leads to greater production. The Duke product is seizing his chance in a way he failed to in his previous five seasons. The Raptors have allowed Barrett to play on the ball more, partly because of the injuries to Barnes and Quickley.</p><p>Barrett has the highest usage rate of his career and is averaging the most touches. He's averaging a career-high 15.7 drives per game and is scoring the 11th most points in the NBA off drives. Though Barrett's also averaging a career high in turnovers, it's expected with more on-ball duties.</p><p>Greater volume usually leads to lower efficiency, and that's the case for Barrett. But he's never been a 3-point sniper. He's shooting a career-high 5.7 threes per game on 35% shooting. Barrett's propensity to drive more has led to a career-best free-throw rate. He's scoring 0.865 points per possession as the pick-and-roll ball-handler, the highest mark of his career.</p><p>Barrett's biggest leap has little to do with scoring. He's evolved into a playmaking titan, setting up teammates in a way he seldom has in previous years. Although he showed flashes of his passing ability in his 32 games with the Raptors last season, Barrett's assists per game have nearly doubled. When Barnes and Quickley return, this young core could make a run up the standings. The Raptors are only four games out of the play-in and +1600 to participate in the play-in tournament. Barrett's emergence could help them sneak in.</p><h3>Are the Rockets legit contenders?</h3><p>The 2023-24 <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/22" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/22">Rockets</a> were the best team to ever miss the play-in tournament. They finished last season at 41-41, the best record in NBA history for an 11-seed. With a young, developing core and the perfect coach for a youthful group, the Rockets' inevitable improvement in an extremely deep West shouldn't surprise anyone.</p><p>But the Rockets haven't just taken off, they've launched to the third seed in the West with an unexpected 17-9 start. Their identity as a gritty, physical, defensive-minded team that imposes its will on opponents isn't a secret. Houston has the league's second-best defense and an average offense. It has seven players averaging double figures, including a deadly bench combo of <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/102780" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/102780">Tari Eason</a> and <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/110271" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/110271">Amen Thompson</a>, who would lead the Sixth Man race if the award honored a bench duo. Individually, Thompson has the third-best odds at +2500 and Eason has the 10th best at +7500.</p><p>Despite the fast start, Vegas isn't buying the Rockets as contenders. They're +1200 to win the West, tied with the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/23" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/23">Grizzlies</a> for the seventh-best odds behind the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/28" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/28">Thunder</a>, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/21" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/21">Mavericks</a>, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/26" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/26">Nuggets</a>, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/27" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/27">Timberwolves</a>, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/19" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/19">Suns</a>, and <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/16" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/16">Warriors</a>.</p><p>While Houston is a well-coached, deep, and tough group, it lacks the star power to win playoff series. The Rockets wouldn't have the best player in a matchup against any of the aforementioned teams. That matters in a seven-game series.</p><p>The Rockets have a high floor but a low ceiling. Defense can lead to regular-season wins, but it's hard to find much success beyond that without a prolific offense.</p><p>The Timberwolves were an exception to that rule last season. They had the league's best defense and a similar offensive rating to the Rockets this season. The difference is the T-Wolves had <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/93912" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/93912">Anthony Edwards</a>, a dominant lead guard and one of the NBA's best scorers, to carry them to the Western Conference finals. That player doesn't exist in Houston.</p><p><a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/96113" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/96113">Alperen Sengun</a> is a potential franchise cornerstone. The center, dubbed "Baby Jokic," deserves to be an All-Star, but he can't consistently create shots for himself or his teammates the way the three-time MVP in Denver can.</p><p><a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/96116" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/96116">Jalen Green</a> has the skill set of a top-tier creator, but he's an efficiency nightmare, and his numbers are down across the board.</p><p>The Rockets have the right blend of youth and veterans to be a great regular-season team. They're a fun surprise and should continue to be a difficult nightly matchup with their daunting defense, but they're a star player away from competing with the best in the West.</p><p>Houston is well on its way to eclipsing its win total, is 16-10 against the spread, and is -600 to make the playoffs (86% implied probability) for the first time since <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/351" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/351">James Harden</a> left in 2020. Thanks to its 11th victory of the season, Buffalo's odds moved from +600 to +375 on theScore Bet/ESPN Bet.</p><p>The change in odds marks the Bills' first time being Super Bowl favorites this season. </p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The Lions fell from +225 to +450, tied with the Chiefs as third favorites. Philadelphia has the NFL's leading rushing attack and is tied for the best scoring defense, giving it a legitimate claim as the league's most complete team. As a result, the Eagles have the second-best odds at +400 to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.</p><p>Detroit has the tiebreaker over Philadelphia, giving it the conference's top seed. But the Lions have tougher final three games than the Eagles, and their injury pileup could affect them down the stretch. They're currently +200 to win the NFC while the Eagles are +185.</p><p>In the AFC, the Bills' impressive win and eighth consecutive week scoring at least 30 points improved their Super Bowl chances with an implied probability of 21.1%. Buffalo (+185) also jumped Kansas City (+200) as the favorite to win the conference.</p><p>This is the first time this season K.C. is not at least the co-favorite to win the AFC. His status is uncertain, but the Chiefs are 2.5-point home underdogs against the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/teams/13" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/teams/13">Texans</a> on Saturday, which indicates the star quarterback will likely sit. The Chiefs have three games in 11 days, so they'll likely be cautious with Mahomes over this tough stretch.</p><p>The Bills' win over the Lions influenced bettors to make a move: Over the past 24 hours, Buffalo has received the most Super Bowl bets and handle (money wagered). For now, he's accepting his role and flourishing as a key member of a squad favored to become the first team to win back-to-back championships since the 2018 Warriors.</p><p>Pritchard is the NBA's most efficient pick-and-roll ball handler, scoring a league-leading 1.44 points per pick-and-roll possession, per NBA Advanced Stats. But he's an instrumental part of Boston's success, and he'll earn individual hardware at the end of the season if he keeps producing off the bench.</p><h3>Are the Bucks back in the contender circle? </h3><p>The <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/30611" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/30611">Giannis Antetokounmpo</a> trade rumors cooled off - for now. The rumor mill ran rampant after a 2-8 start to the season and a visibly frustrated Antetokounmpo expressing his displeasure following losses. Coming off a disappointing 2023-24 that led to a mid-season firing of their head coach, the pressure was on the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/10" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/10">Bucks</a> to contend with an aging and oft-injured roster.</p><p>The Bucks are 11-3 since that pitiful start and the 6-seed in the East. Various factors have contributed to Milwaukee's turnaround, but let's start with its nucleus.</p><p>Antetokounmpo is having perhaps the best season of his career, which is saying something for a two-time MVP and NBA champion. He leads the league in scoring with a career-high 32.7 points per game on an efficient 61% from the field. Giannis is second behind <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/37604" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/37604">Nikola Jokic</a> in player impact estimate. He has the second-highest usage rate of his career and is attempting his most-ever field goals. That could be good enough if Milwaukee maintains its recent offensive output, as it has the league's second-best offensive rating over the last 10 games.</p><p><a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/4789" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/4789">Khris Middleton</a> returned to the floor last week. While he's playing limited minutes, the Bucks need his production on both ends to compete with the best in the East. However, relying on an aging, injury-prone Middleton could contribute to the Bucks' downfall.</p><p>Milwaukee has the fourth-best odds (+1100) to win the East, behind the Celtics (-110), <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/7" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/7">Cavaliers</a> (+500), and <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/3" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/3">Knicks</a> (+500). Oddsmakers don't give the Bucks much chance to win the NBA Finals, with the 10th-best odds at +2500.</p><p>Although that seems like long odds for a team with one of the NBA's top three players, Milwaukee likely won't have enough reliable talent surrounding its elite duo to make a playoff run.</p><p>But there's a way to bet on the Bucks' short-term success without counting on an aging roster to extend its recent encouraging play to the spring. Milwaukee beat the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/14" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/14">Magic</a> on Tuesday night to advance to the NBA Cup semifinals in Las Vegas on Saturday. The Bucks are 3.5-point favorites against the <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/teams/11" href="https://thescore.com/nba/teams/11">Hawks</a> in the semis and +240 to become the second-ever NBA Cup champions.</p><p>Milwaukee's improved showing makes the team worth a bet to hang at least one banner this season.
