Barca defender Martinez sidelined for 4 weeks
Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez is set to miss four weeks with a hamstring injury, the Catalan club said Tuesday.
Centre-back Martinez sustained the problem in Barca's 5-2 Spanish Super Cup win over Real Madrid in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
"Tests carried out on Tuesday morning have shown (Martinez) has a right hamstring injury. He will be out for around four weeks," said Barcelona in a statement.
Ronald Araujo, who replaced him against Madrid, is set to step into the gap amid speculation about a potential move to Italian side Juventus.
Martinez, 33, has become a key figure in defence for Barcelona this season under coach Hansi Flick.
The former Athletic Bilbao defender will miss Barcelona's final two Champions League group matches against Benfica and Atalanta, among other games.
