The Boston Red Sox aren't considering firing chief baseball officer Craig Breslow, a source told Tim Healey of The Boston Globe.

The team's ownership reportedly hasn't even talked about the possibility of dismissing the executive amid an underwhelming season.

The Red Sox sit last in the AL East with a 27-37 record. The club has gone 17-20 since axing longtime manager Alex Cora in favor of interim skipper Chad Tracy in late April.

Boston owns a 197-191 record since Breslow assumed his current role in October 2023. The club has made the playoffs just once in that time, losing in the 2025 wild-card series.

The Red Sox's front office has been looking to bolster the roster through trades over the last few weeks, according to Healey.

The team is reportedly willing to spend money to add a right-handed bat.
