The Miami Marlins appear to be less interested in buying following their recent 12-game losing streak.
The team has altered its trade-deadline strategy as a result of the skid and is now willing to listen to offers for middle infielders Otto Lopez and Xavier Edwards as well as catcher Liam Hicks and slugger Heriberto Hernández, reports The Athletic's Will Sammon, Ken Rosenthal, and Katie Woo.
Whether the Marlins would follow through with trading any of the four players remains uncertain. All of them are between the ages of 26 and 27 years old and under club control for three or more seasons.
Lopez, who leads the majors with a .328 batting average, could generate the most interest among the group. The 27-year-old is in the midst of a career year, ranking fifth in MLB with a 4.4 fWAR.
The 26-year-old Edwards is also performing well, with 115 hits and a 120 OPS+ to his credit, while Hicks' 199 wRC+ ranks fifth among qualified big-league catchers.
Meanwhile, Hernández owns a .478 slugging percentage with 15 homers in 78 games.
The Marlins enter Wednesday with a 54-54 record, two games back of a wild-card spot.
