Ronda Rousey is ending her 10-year retirement for a blockbuster showdown with Gina Carano.

The UFC Hall of Famer and former women's bantamweight champion will face Carano in a professional MMA fight May 16 at Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, Netflix announced Tuesday. Rousey-Carano will be contested at featherweight with five five-minute rounds.

It will be the first MMA event to stream on Netflix and be promoted by Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions.

Rousey, one of the biggest stars in MMA history, hasn't fought since December 2016 when she suffered a 48-second TKO loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.

Rousey, 39, was the inaugural UFC women's bantamweight champion and defended the title six times between February 2013 and August 2015. Holly Holm dethroned Rousey with a head-kick knockout in November 2015 in what stands as one of the biggest upsets in the sport's history.

Carano, a pioneer of women's MMA, will step into the cage for the first time in almost 17 years. The 43-year-old fought professionally from 2006-09, compiling a 7-1 record and primarily competing under the Strikeforce and EliteXC banners. Carano retired after a knockout loss to Cris Cyborg in a fight for the inaugural Strikeforce women's featherweight title that marked the first time two women headlined a major MMA event.
