NBA veteran Joe Harris is retiring from the NBA, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The sharpshooter boasts a 43.6% mark from beyond the arc on 2,354 attempts over 10 seasons. He led the league in 3-point percentage in 2018-19 and 2020-21, and he won the league's 3-point contest in 2019.
Harris was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the No. 33 pick of the 2014 NBA Draft out of Virginia. He averaged just 9.1 minutes per game across 56 contests in two seasons in Cleveland.
He was picked up by the Brooklyn Nets in the 2016 offseason and went on to spend seven seasons with the franchise. He posted a career-best 14.5 points per game in 2020-21 and shot at least 41.9% from deep in six of those campaigns.
Harris was traded to the Detroit Pistons last offseason and struggled with the rebuilding franchise, scoring just 2.4 points per game on 33.3% shooting from deep across 16 appearances. He was waived by the team in February and never signed with a new squad.
The 32-year-old also suited up for Team USA in the 2019 World Cup alongside superstars Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Donovan Mitchell. He shot 50% from deep as the team finished seventh.
