Nets point forward Ben Simmons will be a full participant at Brooklyn's training camp, his agent told NBA insider Chris Haynes.

Simmons is "fully cleared" following back surgery and is "excited to get started" at Brooklyn's camp, which is scheduled to begin Oct. 1, his agent added.

The 2016 No. 1 overall selection underwent the second back procedure of his career in March to repair a pinched nerve. He subsequently missed the rest of the season.

Simmons, 28, has only appeared in 57 games since he was acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers for former MVP James Harden at the 2022 trade deadline.

The Australian only managed to appear in 15 contests last season, averaging 6.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists.

Simmons has one year and over $40 million left on his contract.

Brooklyn's first regular-season game is scheduled for Oct. 25 against the Orlando Magic.
