Nets' Thomas, Johnson return vs. Magic
The Brooklyn Nets got reinforcements Sunday when they matched up against the Orlando Magic.
The team's leading scorer, Cam Thomas, came off the bench after missing 13 games with a hamstring injury, while sharpshooter Cam Johnson was in the starting lineup after a one-game absence due to a hip issue.
Thomas is on a minutes restriction, per Brian Lewis of the New York Post.
Brooklyn struggled to create offense without Thomas' dynamic play. The Nets went 4-9 without the LSU product and had the league's second-worst offensive rating during his absence.
The fourth-year guard is averaging a career-high 24.7 points while shooting 46.1% from the field and 38.9% from deep.
Johnson is also having the best statistical season of his career. The 28-year-old is averaging a career-best 19.5 points while shooting 42.9% on 7.6 threes a game. He missed Brooklyn's 96-87 loss Friday to the San Antonio Spurs.
The Nets traded Dorian Finney-Smith and guard Shake Milton to the Los Angeles Lakers for D'Angelo Russell and Maxwell Lewis on Sunday.
The Nets are 12-19 and sit 12th in the Eastern Conference.
