Report: Kawhi away from Clippers as family evacuated due to L.A. wildfires
Kawhi Leonard is stepping away from the Clippers to help members of his family that had to evacuate due to wildfires in the Los Angeles area, sources told NBA insider Chris Haynes.
The Clippers have ruled out Leonard for Wednesday's road contest against the Denver Nuggets due to personal reasons.
The next game scheduled in Los Angeles is Thursday when the Lakers host the Charlotte Hornets. The Clippers next home game is a meeting with the Hornets on Jan. 11.
Leonard made his season debut earlier in January after being out due to knee inflammation. He's averaged 10 points and 2.5 rebounds in two games.
At least 70,000 people have been ordered to evacuate the region as three significant blazes have taken ahold of the city, according to The Associated Press' Jaimie Ding, Christopher Weber, and Julie Watson.
