Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis is expected to seek clarity about the organization's future plans this offseason, sources told The Athletic's Sam Amick and Anthony Slater.

The news comes roughly a month after the Kings traded longtime guard De'Aaron Fox while acquiring Zach LaVine. Sacramento sits in a play-in spot, having last made the postseason in 2023.

In addition to player personnel moves, both Sabonis and Fox when he was with the Kings have had questions about whose voice has mattered most in the organization and who the team's owner trusted as counsel, Amick and Slater add.

Fox also said he wanted off the team after the Kings fired head coach Mike Brown.

Sabonis is signed with the Kings through the 2027-28 season with a combined $140.3 million left on his deal.

The 28-year-old has been with the Kings for parts of four seasons now. He's flourished with Sacramento, finishing in the top 10 in MVP voting the last two seasons, making an All-Star appearance, and earning consecutive All-NBA third-team honors.

Sabonis is currently leading the league in rebounds for the third straight campaign, and he's secured a league-best 50 double-doubles.

He's averaging 19.5 points, 14.1 rebounds, and 6.2 assists on 59.6% shooting from the field and 43.2% from three across 56 games this season. Sabonis is currently sidelined due to a hamstring strain.
