Report: Morant won't play in Game 4 due to hip injury
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant will be sidelined for Game 4 against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a hip injury, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania on Friday.
The Grizzlies officially listed Morant as doubtful with a hip contusion.
Morant was injured late in the second quarter of Game 3 after a collision with Thunder guard Luguentz Dort. Morant left the game and didn't return.
He tallied 15 points and five assists on 6-of-11 shooting from the field prior to the injury. Memphis blew a 26-point halftime lead following Morant's exit.
The Murray State product was the Grizzlies' leading scorer in the regular season, averaging 23.2 points and 7.3 assists.
Morant struggled to stay healthy, however, only appearing in 50 games due to a variety of ailments. He played through an ankle sprain in Memphis' play-in game against the Dallas Mavericks and reportedly received injections to help manage the pain.
OKC took a 3-0 series lead with Thursday's 114-108 victory. Game 4 is scheduled for Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
