Butler misses Game 3 win over Rockets with pelvic injury
Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler missed Saturday's 104-93 Game 3 victory over the Houston Rockets due to a pelvic contusion.
Butler exited the Warriors' Game 2 loss Wednesday after suffering the injury. An MRI revealed he suffered no structural damage.
Jonathan Kuminga started for Butler. He recorded 11 points in 26 minutes in Game 2 but just seven points in Game 3. Rookie center Quinten Post also joined the opening lineup, contributing two points.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Butler is considered day-to-day, and he is not sure if the veteran will play in Game 4 on Monday, according to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk.
Stephen Curry led all scorers with 36 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds. Buddy Hield and Moses Moody scored 17 and 16 points off the bench, respectively.
Butler is averaging 14 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 steals in the playoffs. He was Golden State's second-leading scorer in the regular season, averaging 17.9 points in 30 contests.
Five players scored in double figures for the Rockets, led by Fred VanVleet's 17 points.
The Warriors lead the Rockets 2-1 in the first-round series.
