Report: Jazz trade Sexton, 2nd-round pick to Hornets for Nurkic
The Utah Jazz traded guard Collin Sexton and a 2030 second-round pick to the Charlotte Hornets for center Jusuf Nurkic, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Sexton, 26, is heading to Charlotte after averaging 17.5 points and 4.2 assists across three seasons with the Jazz. The 2018 eighth overall pick boasted 49/40/85 shooting splits while in Utah.
Nurkic joins the Jazz after appearing in 25 games with the Hornets this past season. Charlotte acquired the Bosnian big from the Phoenix Suns alongside a 2026 first-round pick at the trade deadline for Vasilije Micic, Cody Martin, and a 2026 second-round selection.
The 30-year-old's move represents the second significant frontcourt departure for the Hornets following their trade of center Mark Williams to the Suns earlier in the week for Micic and a pair of first-round picks. Charlotte drafted Creighton center Ryan Kalkbrenner with the 34th selection in the 2025 NBA Draft.
