The Washington Wizards have earned the opportunity to pick first from a star-studded list of prospects at the 2026 NBA Draft after winning Sunday's lottery.
The Utah Jazz will select second, while the Memphis Grizzlies landed the third overall pick.
The Wizards had a 14% chance of obtaining the top pick after finishing the regular season with an NBA-worst 17-65 record and the best lottery odds.
It's the first time the Wizards have won the lottery since they selected John Wall with the first overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. It's also the first time since 2018 that the team with the league's worst record has secured the first pick.

The Indiana Pacers had the joint-best chances of winning the lottery at 14% but lost their top-four protected first-round selection after sliding out of the top four. The Los Angeles Clippers receive the pick as part of the Ivica Zubac trade.
The Brooklyn Nets, who also had a 14% chance of earning the first pick, and the Sacramento Kings, who owned an 11.5% chance, both fell out of the top five picks. The Memphis Grizzlies (9%) and Chicago Bulls (4.5%) vaulted the Nets and Kings to land top-four picks.
The first round of the draft will take place June 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Round 2 will be held the following night.
