Cincinnati is firing head coach Wes Miller days after exiting the Big 12 Tournament in an overtime loss to UCF, sources told Pete Thamel and Jeff Borzello of ESPN.

The Bearcats are set to miss the NCAA Tournament for the seventh straight season, with the last five coming under Miller's watch. The team entered the conference tourney needing a deep run to make the field of 68 but collapsed against the Knights.

Cincinnati led by eight points with 2:17 left to play. UCF made a late charge, forcing an extra frame and eventually winning in overtime.

This year's 18-15 record matched Cincinnati's worst showing under Miller. Most of the team's issues stemmed from a woeful offense: The Bearcats ranked 132nd in KenPom's efficiency statistic and 222nd nationally in points per game.

The move to the Big 12 made Miller's job more difficult, and Cincinnati's struggles appeared to weigh on the coach this season. Miller went viral after a February loss to West Virginia for an interaction with fans in which he said they "deserve to be frustrated" by the team's performance.
