Miami quarterback Darian Mensah completed his first 24 passes against Wake Forest on Friday, setting records en route to a 33-20 win on the road.
Mensah went 20-for-20 in the first half, establishing a new Hurricanes record and a new ACC record for consecutive completions to begin a game. He finally threw his first incompletion in the third quarter on his 25th attempt of the night.
Mensah's first incompletion snapped a string of 35 consecutive connections dating back to last week's outing against Florida A&M, one shy of the FBS record set by East Carolina's Dominique Davis in 2011.
Mensah has been sensational over his first three games with the Hurricanes, who went to the national title game last season with Carson Beck at quarterback. The Duke transfer finished 30-for-34 for 220 yards and three touchdowns against Wake Forest, and has yet to throw an interception this year.

Despite the win, Miami finished the night on a sour note, as star running back Mark Fletcher Jr. left in the fourth quarter after suffering an apparent injury. There was no update from coach Mario Cristobal in the immediate aftermath of the game.
The No. 5 Hurricanes are back in action against Central Michigan on Sept. 26.
