San Francisco Giants third baseman Matt Chapman was irate with teammate Casey Schmitt after the first baseman failed to make a catch during Wednesday's 7-1 loss to the San Diego Padres.

Chapman was seen telling Schmitt to "catch the f-----g ball" after the third baseman's throw sailed over his teammate's head.

The inning would have been over had Schmitt made the catch. Instead, the Padres scored a run and extended their lead, though most of San Diego's damage was done in a four-run eighth inning.

Chapman and Schmitt talked it out after the game and appear to be on good terms.

"We're all brothers here," Chapman said, according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area. "It's the heat of the moment. I already talked to Casey. It's all good."

Schmitt, who's gotten regular reps at first base this season after coming up as a middle infielder, held himself accountable for the mistake.

"We're trying to win games," he said, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Shayna Rubin. "I mean, obviously I'm not mad about it or anything. That's baseball. I mean, those are things I should have done and didn't."
