The New York Jets have made contract offers to cornerback Sauce Gardner and wide receiver Garrett Wilson amid preliminary talks, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Both are eligible to sign extensions this summer entering their fourth NFL seasons. New York picked up their fifth-year options earlier this offseason, keeping the young stars under contract through the 2026 campaign.

The Jets drafted the pair in the top 10 of the 2022 draft, and each won Rookie of the Year on their respective side of the ball.

Wilson has led New York in receptions and receiving yards all three years of his career while also topping 1,000 yards in each. He tallied a personal-best 101 catches, 1,104 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns in 2024.

Gardner is a two-time first-team All-Pro as one of the league's best defensive backs since entering the league. He has 181 tackles, 40 pass breakups, and three interceptions in his career.

"My main focus has been being the best football player I can be, but my team and the Jets have been talking and, you know, I feel pretty good about how the talks have been going," Gardner said this week when asked about extension discussions, per ESPN's Rich Cimini.

He added: "Man, I just wanted to show my teammates, show my coaches how much I'm bought into this now. ... I want to be a part of changing the organization."

Gardner and Wilson have both been present for the entirety of New York's offseason program under new head Aaron Glenn, including this past week's minicamp.

"We always talk about competing in practice and making each other better because we're the building blocks," Gardner said of him and Wilson, according to The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt.

Meanwhile, Wilson said in May that he hopes to be "a Jet for life."

The Jets are set to begin training camp sometime in late July.
