Bruins sign Tyler Johnson to 1-year, $775K deal
The Boston Bruins inked forward Tyler Johnson to a one-year pact at the league minimum of $775,000, the club announced Monday.
Johnson was skating on an amateur tryout agreement with the Bruins' AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins, to which the organization signed him in August.
The 34-year-old suited up for the previous three seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks. He collected 17 goals and 14 assists over 67 games in 2023-24.
Johnson said in April that he wanted to get back to "playing meaningful hockey."
The veteran won back-to-back Stanley Cup championships with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020 and 2021. He played his first nine campaigns with the Bolts, who signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2011.
Johnson has posted 193 goals 238 assists across 738 career regular-season games, adding 32 tallies and 33 helpers over 116 playoff contests.
