Rantanen becomes 3rd-fastest Finn to 700 career points

Stars winger Mikko Rantanen reached the 700-point mark with his second assist in Dallas' 5-1 win over the Nashville Predators on Thursday.

Rantanen is the third-fastest Finnish player to hit the milestone, trailing only Hall of Famers Jari Kurri and Teemu Selanne.

Rantanen ranks seventh on the NHL's all-time scoring list among Finnish players, though he's still not even halfway to first place.

Only Kurri (1.118) has the edge on Rantanen (1.085) when it comes to points per game.

Rantanen has recorded four goals and nine assists in 13 games since joining the Stars. He's up to 83 points in 75 games on the season.
