Avalanche sign Olofsson to 1-year deal
The Colorado Avalanche signed winger Victor Olofsson to a one-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.
The deal is worth $1.575 million, according to PuckPedia.
Olofsson tallied 15 goals and 14 assists in 56 games with the Vegas Golden Knights last season. He added four points in nine playoff appearances.
The 30-year-old sharpshooter scored a career-high 28 goals with the Buffalo Sabres in 2022-23. He's averaged 23 goals and 23 assists per 82 games in his seven-year NHL career.
Olofsson has typically struggled defensively during his NHL tenure, but that wasn't the case a year ago.
Victor Olofsson, signed with COL, is a veteran scoring winger. Spent literally his entire career as a perimeter one-timer merchant and then suddenly puts up unreal defensive numbers? Not sure I buy it but it'd be cool if that sticks around. pic.twitter.com/GYbdUylHkL

Olofsson projects to fill a bottom-six role with the Avalanche next season, though he could see some time on the power play, where he's scored 41 of his 105 career NHL goals.
