New York Islanders forward Kyle Palmieri will undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee, the club announced Saturday.

Palmieri will be out for six-to-eight months following the procedure.

The 34-year-old suffered the injury after getting tangled up with Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Jamie Drysdale while battling for the puck near the boards Friday. He still managed to get an assist on a goal as he was leaving the ice.

Palmieri recorded six goals and 12 assists in 25 games during the 2025-26 season.

The veteran center inked a two-year, $9.5-million extension in May. He was traded to the Islanders from the New Jersey Devils in April 2021.
