New York Islanders netminder Ilya Sorokin stopped all 44 shots he faced to establish a new franchise record with his 26th career shutout in a dominant 9-0 win over the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday.

Sorokin, who was making his first start since Dec. 19 due to a lower-body injury, previously shared the club record with Glenn "Chico" Resch.

Rank Goalie Shutouts
1 Ilya Sorokin 26
2 Glenn Resch 25
3 Billy Smith 22
T4 Rick DiPietro 16
T4 Semyon Varlamov 16

Anthony Duclair led the way offensively for the Islanders, notching three goals and two assists after being a healthy scratch for the last two games. He set up Casey Cizikas for New York's ninth goal of the contest in the final minute.

Devils goaltender Jacob Markstrom was on the hook for all nine goals against.

"I've got to be better," Markstrom told reporters postgame. "We put up 40-plus shots and they put up 20? Scored nine. I'm embarrassed of myself. Not good enough."

A Devils fan threw a jersey on the ice at UBS Arena. It happened to be a P.K. Subban jersey, and he was calling the game on ESPN.

The Devils are 6-12-1 in their last 19 games.
