Predators send Cole Smith to Golden Knights for Sedoff, 3rd-rounder
The Nashville Predators traded forward Cole Smith to the Vegas Golden Knights for defenseman Christoffer Sedoff and a 2028 third-round pick, the team announced Tuesday.
Smith has recorded six goals, four assists, and 119 hits in 42 games this season while averaging a career-high 14:07 per contest. He projects to play on Vegas' fourth line, where he could be reunited with former Predators forward Colton Sissons.
Smith, a 30-year-old winger, carries a $1-million cap hit and will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
Sedoff, 24, has four assists through 38 games in the AHL this season. The Finnish D-man has yet to make his NHL debut after being signed by the Golden Knights as an undrafted free agent prior to the 2023-24 campaign.
The Predators also traded Michael McCarron to the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday. Nashville now has two second-round picks and two third-rounders in the 2028 NHL Draft.
