Crosby climbs all-time scoring list as Malkin notches 1,400th point

Pittsburgh Penguins legends Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin made history on the same goal Saturday against the Florida Panthers.

Malkin scored a power-play goal in the second period to reach 1,400 career points. Meanwhile, Crosby picked up his second assist of the game to pass Steve Yzerman for sole possession of seventh place on the all-time points list (1,756).

Crosby now has the second-most points with a single franchise in history, trailing only Gordie Howe (1,809 with the Detroit Red Wings).

Malkin, who sits 23rd on the all-time points list, is the third player in Penguins history to rack up 1,400 points with the franchise, joining Crosby and Mario Lemieux (1,723).
