Kirill Marchenko will be in the Toronto Maple Leafs' lineup for Tuesday's season opener just over 24 hours after being acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
Maple Leafs general manager John Chayka said earlier Tuesday that he was unsure whether Marchenko could resolve his immigration issues before puck drop.
Marchenko will skate on Toronto's top line with Auston Matthews and Jack Roslovic in his debut, according to The Athletic's Jonas Siegel.
The Maple Leafs shipped Matthew Knies to Columbus for Marchenko as part of a six-player deal. Toronto then signed Marchenko to a six-year, $75-million extension.
Marchenko led the Blue Jackets in goals (27) and ranked second on the team in points (67) in 76 games last season.
The Maple Leafs will take on the Montreal Canadiens at 7 p.m. ET.
