TGL playoffs set after New York grabs last spot
New York Golf Club secured the final spot in the inaugural TGL playoffs after defeating Boston Common Golf 10-6 on Monday.
Xander Schauffele made a walk-off chip-in to punch New York's ticket.
The No. 4-ranked New York will play Collin Morikawa and the top-seeded Los Angeles Golf Club in the semifinals. The Bay Golf Club, led by Shane Lowry and Ludvig Aberg, will meet Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay's Atlanta Drive GC in the other matchup. The Bay currently holds the No. 2 seed, but Atlanta could pass them by winning 11 or more holes in the final match of the regular season Tuesday against Tiger Woods' Jupiter Links GC.
The playoffs begin March 17 with a single-elimination semifinal. The finals will consist of a best-of-three series between the two advancing clubs.
Jupiter Links and the winless Boston Common are the only teams that failed to qualify for the postseason.
