Brewers activate Misiorowski to start vs. Reds
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski was reinstated from the 15-day injured list, the team announced Friday.
Misiorowski will start Friday's game against the Cincinnati Reds in an abbreviated outing, reports MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. He didn't go on a rehab assignment. The Brewers have a chance to tie their all-time winning streak of 13, which the franchise set in 1987.
The 23-year-old rookie sensation was hit by a liner and sustained a left tibia contusion in his last outing against the Chicago Cubs on July 28. He remained in the game but only pitched four innings.
Misiorowski owns a 2.70 ERA with 12.7 K/9 over 33 1/3 innings (seven starts) this season with the Brewers. He was selected for the All-Star Game after five starts, making his journey from MLB debut to the Midsummer Classic the fastest ever.
Right-hander Grant Anderson was optioned to Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move.
The Brewers lead the National League with a 76-44 record.
