Blue Jays activate Springer, option Loperfido to Triple-A
The Toronto Blue Jays reinstated outfielder/designated hitter George Springer from the seven-day concussion injured list and optioned outfielder Joey Loperfido to Triple-A Buffalo, the team announced Saturday.
Springer will be active for Saturday's game versus the Texas Rangers. He played two games with Triple-A Buffalo on a rehab assignment and hit a home run Friday.
The 35-year-old had been out since July 28 after taking a 96-mph pitch to the head from Baltimore Orioles right-hander Kade Strowd.
