Report: White Sox, Seranthony Domínguez agree to 2-year, $20M contract
The Chicago White Sox and right-handed reliever Seranthony Domínguez agreed to a two-year, $20-million contract, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.
Domínguez, 31, authored a 3.16 ERA and 3.47 FIP over 67 appearances between the Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays last year.
He's expected to close for the White Sox, Passan adds.
Domínguez has primarily worked in high-leverage, non-closing roles as a reliever. However, he has racked up 40 saves over seven seasons.
The White Sox will be Domínguez's fourth organization since he became a major leaguer in 2018.
The veteran possesses a 3.50 ERA and 3.78 FIP over 306 career innings while making 322 appearances. His 30.3% strikeout rate ranked 25th among qualified relievers last year. However, his 13.8% walk rate also ranked sixth worst.
