Los Angeles Dodgers starter Tyler Glasnow exited with pain in his lower back after one inning in Wednesday's start against the Houston Astros.

Glasnow explained postgame that he felt a back spasm while throwing the pitch, according to Jack Harris of the California Post. He explained that back spasms are something that he deals with regularly, and he hopes this particular one is "not too serious." However, Glasnow added that he'll need a few more days before determining if he can make his next start on schedule.
Manager Dave Roberts said that Glasnow will have an MRI, but he doesn't anticipate the right-hander landing on the injured list, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
The 32-year-old was scratched from a start last September due to a similar issue, but he managed to pitch the rest of the month. He also spent three weeks on the IL in 2024 due to back tightness.
Glasnow has never logged more than 134 innings (22 starts) in a single season over his 11-year career due to multiple ailments. The 2024 All-Star owns a 2.72 ERA with 0.83 WHIP and 49 strikeouts in 39 2/3 innings (seven starts) this year.
Glasnow's early departure came after he recorded his 1,000th career strikeout in the first inning.
