The Atlanta Braves acquired outfielder Lane Thomas and left-hander Bailey Falter from the Kansas City Royals for minor-league pitchers Carter Holton and Lucas Braun, both teams announced Saturday.
Thomas has 10 homers with 37 RBIs and a .717 OPS over 96 games this season.
The 30-year-old can play all over the outfield, making 51 starts in center, 10 in right, and 10 in left in 2026. He sits in the 94th percentile in arm value and 93rd in arm strength.
The pending free agent's best campaign came in 2023. He hit a career-high 28 long balls with 86 RBIs, 20 stolen bases, and a .783 OPS across 156 games for the Washington Nationals.
Falter has recorded a 13.97 ERA in 9 2/3 innings (two starts) this year. However, he authored a 4.77 ERA with 1.32 WHIP in six seasons with the Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Philadelphia Phillies.
Braun, the more polished prospect, owns a 3.92 ERA over 10 appearances in Triple-A this year.
