The Washington Nationals and outfielder Jacob Young agreed to a four-year, $23-million contract extension, sources told Robert Murray of FanSided.

The deal reportedly includes a fifth-year option worth $8 million.

Young's new contract will buy out his arbitration years and first year of free agency in 2030, while the option is for 2031.

The 27-year-old finished in the 96th percentile for outs above average in 2026.

Young also hit 10 homers with 50 RBIs, 18 stolen bases, and a .707 OPS over 140 games this year.
