Grizzlies' Pippen: Dad told me to 'go out there and kill it' vs. Bulls
Memphis Grizzlies guard Scotty Pippen Jr. had a night to remember Saturday inside his dad's old stomping grounds at the United Center.
Pippen, the son of legend Scottie Pippen, finished with a career-high 30 points and added 10 assists to help lead the Grizzlies to a 142-131 win over the Chicago Bulls.
Although the elder Pippen wasn't on hand to watch Saturday night's game, he did offer some advice to his son beforehand.
"It's a dream come true. It's crazy to say I put up 30 and 10 in the gym where my dad had played," Scotty said, according to ESPN. "It means everything to me and my family. I talked to my dad tonight about coming in here and playing. He just told me to go out there and kill it, so that's what I tried to do."
The Grizzlies improved to 10-7 with the win, while the Bulls fell to 7-11.
Scotty is averaging 12.6 points, 5.9 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.1 steals through 17 games this season.
