Report: George weighing options for groin, knee injuries
Philadelphia 76ers veteran Paul George is consulting with doctors this week on treatment options for his groin and knee injuries, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
One of the options potentially includes a procedure, Charania reports. George is expected to make a decision early next week.
The 34-year-old has missed 23 games this season, including the last four contests with the groin issue. He has played through pain as well, taking injections for five straight games before the All-Star break.
George is averaging 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.8 steals in 41 games this campaign. He signed a four-year, $212-million deal last offseason.
Franchise cornerstone Joel Embiid was ruled out for the year in February to focus on rehabilitating his knee. Tyrese Maxey has also missed the last five games due to a back sprain.
Philadelphia's first-round pick in the upcoming draft is top-six protected. If the pick falls outside that range, it will go to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Sixers are 13th in the Eastern Conference with a 22-43 record.
