The Phoenix Suns waived former first-round pick Cole Anthony, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Phoenix acquired Anthony from the Milwaukee Bucks in a three-team deal at the trade deadline, but he never suited up for the Suns.
Anthony needed to be waived before March 1 to be playoff eligible with a new team.
The 25-year-old averaged 6.7 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.5 boards across 35 appearances for the Bucks this season.
The Orlando Magic selected Anthony with the 15th overall pick in 2020. His best campaign came in 2021-22 when he averaged a career-high 16.3 points, 5.7 assists, and 5.4 boards.
