The NBA fined Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown $50,000 for criticizing referees involved in Boston's first-round series versus the Philadelphia 76ers during a Twitch livestream Sunday.
Brown suggested that three referees in the series deserved to be investigated while continuing his criticism of 76ers star Joel Embiid, whom he accused of flopping. He didn't specify which officials he believes should be looked into, though the 29-year-old also claimed that certain referees called him for offensive fouls more frequently than other players because they had an "agenda" against him.
The fine marks the second time in 2026 that Brown has been punished for publicly ripping officials. The former Finals MVP was docked $35,000 in January for his complaints after a loss to the San Antonio Spurs, during which he addressed official Curtis Blair by name.
Brown averaged 25.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and shot 40.5% from distance in seven games against Philadelphia.
