Daryl Morey is out as president of basketball operations for the Philadelphia 76ers, the team announced Tuesday.

Team owners Josh Harris and David Blitzer reportedly met Tuesday with Morey and decided to part ways, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

Head coach Nick Nurse is staying on for a fourth season with the organization, according to Charania.

The Iowa native holds a 116-130 record, including a 45-37 mark this past season. He previously led the Toronto Raptors to their first NBA title during his five-year stint north of the border.

Ex-Golden State Warriors executive Bob Myers, who serves as president of sports for Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment, will lead the search for Morey's replacement and oversee the franchise's basketball department in the interim.

"I have a tremendous amount of respect for Daryl personally and professionally, and I'm grateful for his contributions over the last six seasons," Harris said in a statement.

"After speaking with Daryl, we determined that it was time for a fresh start. Bob Myers will lead the process of identifying a new leader and I believe his experience in constructing four NBA championship teams will be a valuable resource to our organization."

Morey joined the 76ers in 2020 following a 13-year tenure as general manager of the Houston Rockets. The former NBA Executive of the Year guided Philadelphia to a 270-212 mark and drafted core pieces Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe.

However, the 76ers never advanced past the second round of the NBA playoffs during his time in charge.
