Atlanta chose to move on from Kuminga just four months after acquiring him from the Golden State Warriors for center Kristaps Porzingis at the trade deadline. The 23-year-old averaged 12.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists on 47.6% shooting during his 16-game tenure with the Hawks.
Joining the Hawks was supposed to be a fresh start for the Congolese forward, who demanded a trade out of Golden State in January. He had re-signed with the Warriors last summer following a protracted saga as a restricted free agent.
Kuminga was drafted seventh overall by the Warriors in 2021.
