The Atlanta Hawks agreed to a one-year, $21-million extension with guard CJ McCollum, his agent told ESPN's Shams Charania.
McCollum's new deal, which prevents him from becoming an unrestricted free agent at the end of the month, also contains a trade kicker.
Atlanta acquired the 34-year-old midseason from the Washington Wizards in a swap that sent Trae Young to D.C. McCollum played 41 regular-season contests with the Hawks, putting up 18.7 points, 4.1 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and a steal per game while helping Quin Snyder's squad secure the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.
He started all six of Atlanta's first-round games against the New York Knicks. McCollum averaged 19.2 points throughout the series, which included a 32-point performance in a Game 2 victory for the Hawks. He then scored a game-winning jumper in Game 3 to put them up 2-1 in the series before the Knicks won three straight to advance.
The former 10th overall pick will play his 14th campaign in 2026-27.
