The New York Knicks signed veteran Bruce Brown, former No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman, and guard Ochai Agbaji to Exhibit 9 contracts, the team announced Wednesday.
Brown spent the previous campaign with the Denver Nuggets, averaging 7.9 points, 3.9 boards, 2.1 assists, and one steal across 82 appearances. The 30-year-old played a key role off the bench during the Nuggets' championship run in 2023.
Wiseman played in just five games for the Indiana Pacers over the last two campaigns. He tore his left Achilles tendon in the Pacers' 2024-25 season opener and was waived last December following a brief return to the lineup.
Wiseman had a promising start to his NBA career, averaging 11.5 points and 5.8 boards over 39 appearances with the Golden State Warriors. However, his rookie campaign was cut short by a torn right meniscus, and he subsequently missed the entire 2021-22 season rehabbing the injury.
Agbaji split last season between the Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets, averaging career lows in scoring (5.1 points per game) and 3-point percentage (26.6%). The Cleveland Cavaliers originally selected Agbaji with the 14th overall pick in 2022 but dealt him to the Utah Jazz two months later as part of the Donovan Mitchell blockbuster trade.
Big man Drew Eubanks and wing John Konchar also agreed to Exhibit 9 contracts with New York.
All five players will head to Knicks training camp with an opportunity to compete for a roster spot. While the team has two open slots, it can only keep one player unless it makes a trade to create more salary-cap space, according to Bobby Marks of ESPN.
