Arkansas lands top-10 recruit Meleek Thomas
Five-star recruit Meleek Thomas has committed to Arkansas over UConn and hometown school Pittsburgh, he told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Thomas is the second-ranked point guard and No. 9 overall recruit on the ESPN 100 for 2025.
"Everyone I spoke with was so positive on coach (John Calipari)," Thomas told ESPN's Jeff Borzello and Paul Biancardi. "He has touched so many lives with his guys becoming NBA players and so many others. He and the staff stayed in contact with both me and my family the whole time.
"I am big on family, and coach Cal is a warm-hearted person who built a great relationship with both me and my family."
The Razorbacks now have the top-two floor generals in next year's class following the addition of Darius Acuff in July.
Calipari's program remains in the mix for five-star recruits Caleb Wilson and Chris Cenac.
Thomas joined Overtime Elite after spending his first three years of high school at Lincoln Park Performing Arts. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 23.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 3.3 steals per game as a junior.
