Five-star recruit Miikka Muurinen committed to Arkansas, he told ESPN's Jeff Borzello and Paul Biancardi on Monday, giving the program the nation's No. 1 recruiting class.
Muurinen is a 7-foot forward from Finland. He's not listed on the SC Next 100 because he's not in high school, but Muurinen's 95 scouting grade would make him a top-five recruit in the class, according to Borzello and Biancardi.
The 19-year-old attended multiple high schools before signing with Partizan Belgrade in Serbia. He visited Arkansas in 2024 before he took his talents overseas.
"Miikka is very excited to play for Arkansas," Muurinen's agent said. "He already knows the other three freshmen well and can't wait to play with them. He wants to be held to a high standard, held accountable, taught pro habits, and, most of all, win a championship."
Muurinen played in 14 games for Partizan last season, including six in EuroLeague competition. He saw limited action in the EuroLeague, averaging 2.4 points and 1.6 rebounds in 7.6 minutes per game before departing the team in February. During the 2023 U16 European Championship, he averaged 16.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest.
The 7-footer joins a stacked Razorbacks class that includes No. 2 overall recruit Jordan Smith Jr., five-star forward JaShawn Andrews, and four-star forward Abdou Toure.
Arkansas made it to the Sweet 16 before losing to Arizona in March Madness.
