Miami quarterback Carson Beck deems himself 100% healthy after undergoing surgery to repair a torn UCL in his right elbow. Beck sustained the injury during the SEC championship game with Georgia.

"I'm really excited," Beck said Tuesday, according to the Miami Herald's Jordan McPherson. "Obviously, the work that we've been able to put in over the summer since I've been able to start throwing again has been really good."

Beck transferred to Miami in December. Head coach Mario Cristobal said the quarterback has "been full go and completely cleared and has participated fully" since about two weeks after the team finished spring practices.

The former Georgia standout is tasked with replacing Cam Ward, who passed for over 4,000 yards and 39 touchdowns before the Tennessee Titans drafted him first overall.

Beck is looking to regain the form that had him widely projected as a a first-round pick after throwing for 3,941 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 2023. He took a step back in 2024: His completion rate dropped to 65% while he tossed an SEC-high 12 interceptions.

Miami came close to the College Football Playoff last season after a 9-0 start, but the team missed out on a berth following a pair of November losses.

Beck has taken notice of the Canes' talent on both the roster and the coaching staff as they prep for their season opener against Notre Dame on Aug. 31.

"From what I've been able to pick up, these dudes just go to work, and it's been very exciting to be accepted into the culture in Miami," he said.
