The Red River Rivalry once again didn't disappoint Saturday, with this year's late dramatics giving Oklahoma the nail-biting victory over No. 1 Texas.
Tate Sandell's 47-yard field goal as time expired secured the victory for the underdog Sooners after an Arch Manning interception set them up in excellent field position in the dying seconds.

Manning's backbreaking pick came with Texas on the cusp of field-goal territory with the possibility of a winning kick. That set the Sooners up at their own 39 with 19 seconds and one timeout to work with.
Two John Mateer completions to Isaiah Sategna III moved Oklahoma to the Texas 30-yard line and Sandell connected to send half the stadium into a frenzy.
It's a massive win for the Sooners who came to the Cotton Bowl once again under fire for their dismal offense. Oklahoma hadn't scored an offensive touchdown on Texas since 2023, and failed to do so for the opening three quarters Saturday.
However, stout defensive play and a punt-return touchdown kept Oklahoma within shouting distance, and Manning's 42-yard pick-6 with 10:07 left gave the Sooners their first lead. The Longhorns quarterback would rebound with a touchdown drive on his next posssession, but the lasting image for Manning's play from this game will be the picks.
The much-maligned Mateer delivered in the biggest moments with two perfect throws to Sategna when they were needed to set up Sandell for the win.
