Report: Cowboys acquire Mingo from Panthers
The Dallas Cowboys are acquiring wide receiver Jonathan Mingo and a 2025 seventh-round pick from the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a 2025 fourth-rounder, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Mingo was drafted in the second round in 2023. He posted 418 yards on 43 receptions with no touchdowns as a rookie. The Ole Miss product has 12 catches for 121 yards in nine games this season.
The 23-year-old joins a wide receiver room that's headlined by CeeDee Lamb. He'll compete with Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin, and tight end Jake Ferguson for targets behind the All-Pro.
Owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday on 103.5 The Fan that the Cowboys liked Mingo during their pre-draft process, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Mingo is the second Panthers wideout to be traded this season. Diontae Johnson was dealt to the Baltimore Ravens in October.
