Report: Seahawks expected to speak with Rodgers
The Seattle Seahawks are expected to talk with Aaron Rodgers regarding their vacancy at quarterback, a source told The Athletic's Dianna Russini.
Seattle is in the market for a starter after trading Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders for a third-round pick. The Seahawks have Sam Howell and Jaren Hall as other options on their depth chart.
Rodgers will become a free agent after spending the past two seasons with the New York Jets. The 41-year-old has been linked to several teams looking into options at quarterback, including the New York Giants and the Raiders before they landed Smith.
The four-time NFL MVP passed for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions last year after missing nearly all of the 2023 season due to an Achilles injury.
The Seahawks have also been connected to Sam Darnold, who is set to become a free agent after posting career-highs with 4,319 passing yards, 35 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and a 66% completion rate. He helped the Minnesota Vikings post a 14-3 record and is poised to receive lucrative offers in free agency.
