Panthers' Brooks to miss 2025 season after landing on PUP list
Carolina Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks will miss the 2025 season after being placed on the physically unable to perform list Thursday, the team announced.
Brooks tore his right ACL in December for the second time in 13 months. He first sustained the injury in November 2023 during his final college season at Texas.
It's a big blow to the Panthers, who selected Brooks 46th overall in the 2024 draft as the first running back off the board.
Brooks' injury at Texas forced him to miss Carolina's first 10 games last season. He then appeared in three contests and had nine rushing attempts before going down with another injury.
With Brooks sidelined again, Carolina will continue to rely on running back Chuba Hubbard. The Panthers also signed Rico Dowdle and drafted Trevor Etienne in the fourth round this year.
